Digital Image Workflow

After you have taken your photographs and downloaded them into you computer what do you want to do with them. This class we will discuss workflow's for different situations. No single workflow suits all photographers. A good digital workflow is the most efficient way to get the most from your photographs. Many software packages can be part of a digital workflow we will discuss several of them. You will need to choose a program or programs that works for you.

In this one day class some of the subjects covered will be:

  • Adobe Camera Raw
  • Monitor Calibration
  • Color Spaces
  • Color Profiles
  • Resolution
  • File Formats
  • Raw File Format
  • Image Sharpening
  • Archival Image Formats

Digital Asset Management

Digital Asset Management consists of tasks and decisions surrounding ingesting, annotating, cataloguing, storage, and retrieval of digital assets, such as digital photographs, animations, videos, and music.

Digital Asset Management systems are computer software and/or hardware systems that aid in the process of management of computer files. The term “Digital Asset Management” (DAM) also refers to the protocol for downloading, renaming, backing up, rating, grouping, archiving, optimizing, maintaining, thinning, and exporting files.

In this two day class some of the subjects covered will be:

  • Directory Structure

  • Ratings, Keywords, and Groupings
  • Rating and Labeling
  • First Edits and Ratings
  • Browsers versus cataloging software

  • Get Photos from your Camera

  • Create a contact sheet
  • Batch Renaming
